According to statcounter
StatCounter Global Stats - Browser, OS, Search Engine including Mobile Market Share

Latest search data globally shows bing search at 3.25% of total, down from
a measly 3.58% anyway. Google up to 90.54% from 89.57%.
When you see the graph, it's a startling perspective.

That's right. Google owns over 90% of the search engine market. Still.

What search engine are you putting your efforts into?

These stats are wrong; Bing and Yahoo have signed a deal which gives them 30% of the share total combined as they now share search algorithm information and search database information.

However I feel that it isn't that important to vary your method to get to the top of a search engine as the differences are marginal and also Bing and Yahoo will be changing their algorithm anyway which will mean it will become closer aligned to Google's, stick to the methods you use for Google and you will improve in the other SE's also.

      Cheers,
      Marcus

I purely optimize the website for Google because traffic from google is more genuine as compared to other search engines. But free traffic from other search engine would be a bonus.

I prefer targeting what is on the top. Google is on the top, so I optimize for the big G.

What is the idea of a decision engine - as you said Bing is?

According to Microsoft, it is part of the larger search engine class, with the added ability to organize answers in such a way as to help you make "faster, more informed decisions."

I don't think many people were expecting Bing to overthrow Google. Regardless, it's presence is not to be neglected.
