Google suddenly slaps all new campaigns

Hey,

I have been using wordpress direct to create landing pages for a while now and it's been working very well. Usually I get 7/10 QS on most of my keywords.

I have had this one campaign with 100% ROI doing very well for a month now with several keywords having 10/10 QS. Yesterday when I checked my account I saw that all my keywords had gone down to 1-2/10 QS. I thought that it must have been the infamous google slap. Anyway since it had been doing very well for a month I figured it must have gotten screwed by the human review and that maybe I could start a new campaign and get my QS up again.

First I just copied the campaign and let it rip, after a couple of hours 1/10 QS again. So I thought maybe they had "blacklisted" my domain or whatever so I migrated my blog to a new domain with everything exactly the same. Again I had 7/10 QS starting out on all keywords, couple of hours later 1/10 QS again.

So to test I started a couple of other blog landing pages on some different topics, and while all started out at atleast 6/10 QS , after a couple of hours they all went down to 1/10 QS.

So does anyone have any idea wth is going on ? Seems like google is autoslapping all my campaigns ^^

And also does anyone have a similar experience using wordpress/wordpress direct to create landing pages? Doesn't google like these?

I use Xsite pro to build my landing pages and I can get past Google. Not too familiar with using Wordpress tho everyone uses it.

  People seem so caught up all the time on whether Xsite pro, Wordpress, itpress, or somepress is better....truth is they all just output HTML which Google eats up. If you get past Google it's only because Xsite pro is doing something different whan Wordpress with respect to the HTML it spits out (assuming your statement is actually true with respect to your having more success with Google through Xsite pro). It's got nothing to do with Xsite pro or Wordpress or any other press.
  
  It has to do with the HTML!
  
  People don't seem to understand that. Forget the press or pro. Look at the HTML. Look at the source being spit out. That's where you will find clues as to why Google might like pages from one software more than from another. It's not inherent in the software itself like it has some Google magic or something.

I use wordpress because its so damn fast to setup, takes me 15 min to get a blog posted with background content that gives it good QS even though it's a landing page. But maybe that has changed since google are slapping any blog I put up now

As far as to whether it has anything to do with wordpress or not I'm not to sure of.

One major thing that you might wanna check is to make sure you have a privacy policy page and contact us page linked to your landing page.

Other than that you don't have any javascript popups or anything do you? It sounds to me like it's one of the above. Those are two things that google can't stand!

I'm willing to bet you don't have privacy policy and contact us pages linking to your landing page... I'd be interested in your response!

It's not the landing page that's the problem, it's the type of sites people are linking to. Per the link above:

"Certain kinds of websites (ref1) are not allowed per our policies because the user experience is of low quality or we consistently receive negative feedback from our users about these kinds of pages. These sites include:

* Data collection sites that offer the false promise of free items, etc., in order to collect private information.

* Arbitrage sites that are designed for the purpose of showing ads

* Affiliates who provide limited value by being a bridge page with the intent of solely driving traffic to another site or who are framing an affiliate site

* Malware sites that knowingly or unknowingly install software on a visitor's computer

I DO have privacy policy, contact us, about us and all the good stuff google likes, this isn't about that at all. I quote from the link:

The site I had that was doing really well was a simple review style landing page promoting 4 different e-mail submit offers and like I said it was doing perfectly fine for several weeks before I suddenly got slapped.

After reading up on this on several forums it seems like a LOT of people have been getting screwed over by google the last several days, many of which had campaigns up for YEARS that suddenly just got screwed. Seems like google is really discouraging affiliates in general.

As the link provided by Preciseim states, it's not what you use to create your site that is the issue. Google doesn't care about that. It's the fact that you have an affiliate site. This has been going on for a couple of months. Unfortunately, many did not heed the warnings with the result of many accounts being terminated.

Hrm. I thought google was pushing AMs to PPC, now you can't even have that! That really sucks for me because thats the foundation that made me take up IM

Jesse, why did you think Google was pushing AMs to PPC? They are pushing PPC to any business, big or small. AMs are part of that mix but never to my knowledge have they pursued AMs exclusively.

By the way, AMs can still use Adwords. It's just that they don't want your landing page to have affiliate links on it. They have to be on another page. Better yet, link direct to the merchant.

Site level slap. Nice.

Google has their heads up their a__ a lot of the time with their shotgun approach.

Here is a site that has been doing Arbitrage for a couple of years... and they didn't get slapped.

Ask you rep why this site can do Arbitrage with almost NO CONTENT... just Adsense and a few Affliate links but your site gets slammed.

I'm serious. What are these guys doing that allows them to have a high quality score?

This is only one example... I see them all the time. And I find them when I try to filter out crap ads using the Adsense Filter tools. Arbitrage is alive and well... for the people that figure out how to get around Google Slaps.

IMIQ, I don't see much wrong with that site. It's not an affiliate site. They do have an Adsense block on the left side but I wouldn't exactly call it arbitrage. Hard to say, maybe Google would object to it. If so, you may not see their ads much longer.

Carlos, totally agree with you. I don't know why people still think that Wordpress might have some magic to it. Google only cares about the text on your page.

This is Google's way of breaking up with you. This is just the initial punch in the stomach (slapping you QS across the board), you can expect it to come on any ads made from here on out. Essentially, what has happened is that they have decided your ads in general are not of the quality that they strive to provide for their users. They are going to assume the same going forward. It's happened to a lot of people, but seeing as it has not happened to me, I am unsure of exactly how to handle the situation.
