Hello All,

I am new here and was hoping someone could help me out with some questions I have regarding local SEO. I am working at building targeted traffic for two websites that offer services to a local area. My questions for you are:

1. How do you find the best backlinks for a local site so that it will rank well locally?
2. What is the best method for building a good amount of targeted traffic for a local site?
3. What strategies have you found to work best for local SEO overall?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Tyy

Use social networking sites to drive traffic to your site ( you can use these sites' blogs to dominate in SERPs for your keywords), include the name of the area where you operate your business in your keywords.

Thank you for your reply! I have just started looking into social networking sites and how to use them for this. I have set-up accounts with 6 different sites and I have submitted some of my blog posts to these. One thing I hadn't thought of though was using the location as part of my keywords, which would make sense. I will definitely use that next post.

      Thanks again!

        Hi TYY

I have an offline business and use location extensively in keywords.

If someone is typing in "buy garage door utah" they are serious buyers. I have chosen my radius that I want to operate in and mix in each town/county into copy as I go.

          Hey Kenj,

Thanks for the info. Do you find that by mixing in different cities and counties in your content that it will help you in the SERPs for those and not just the city you are located in? Thanks for your help.
