Can you run several campaigns on one keyword on AdWords Content?

I recently started several AdWords Content Network campaigns for the same niche. The camapigns are similar but of course not the same, but for distinct products. Some of the adgroups have very similar keyword-themes.

Is it possible from your experience to run several content campaigns in the same niche, competing with each other or will one campaign dominate the other resulting in one with almost 100% of the impressions, just like in search?

The reasoning that it is different in content is that a) the keywords are not handled as in search and b) there is so much different volume and sites, that both campaigns could run simultaneously.

What do you think?

    Thumoney,

It may work, it all depends on your bidding strategy and quality scores. I believe that as long as those keywords are all in the same account that AdWords will prevent the double serving of ads to the same keyword.

If I were you I would try to create separate and unique keyword lists to avoid any overlap. Your strategy, as described, would cause you to compete with yourself across different campaigns and will end up driving your CPC toward the maximum. This would be like flushing money down the toilet. Don't do it, spend the extra time to create separate lists or separate by geography, day parting or something like that.

Thanks, makes sense. I currently see one campaign delivering almost no traffic while the other delivers a lot.
