is adwords really that bad to use?

I had $50 free credit with hostgator but i paid $10 to activate it, I've avoided using adwords because of the things I've heard but I figured what the hell I have $50 credit and I'm only spending $1-

so with $60 I've gotten 3 sales, and with the remaining credit I still have I expect 1-3 more sales. So it will be $130-190 in return for $60. It's taking people to my landing page for a clickbank product.

So making double or more of the investment, and with the ability to track and see which keywords are and aren't doing well I would expect I'd be able to get rid of the bad ones and keep the good ones over time and get even more bang for the buck.

I'm only using 5 cent clicks as well.

I'm just wondering why it's said to be bad to use from what I heard. I'm quite satisfied to finally see money going into my clickbank. Now I know it's not ALWAYS going to give the same results, but with 2-3x the return I think it's safe to say it should at least always be profit, after all it only takes 2 sales to get back the initial investment. And with about 1200 clicks you can get at 5 cents for $60 the chances are quite high that at least 2 people will buy it.

I do agree with you pat. In my opinion, if you found it useful for you to used, than used it and ignore what others people said about it. Since you used it for good reason, and not to spam others and you are not make others losing their profit, just ignore them. lol. No need to wandering around why they say like that. It is not worth enough.

Like ccmusicman said,"Continue to make money" that would be more important to do. :p:p

The people who say that obviously have no idea what they are talking about. Adwords can work very well for pretty much anything if you do it the right way.

    thanks
i just added all the targeted keywords adwords gave me, unfortunately the campaign tools showing which keywords are getting clicks etc doesn't seem to be working properly, all my keywords show 0 clicks yet obviously that isn't true.

is it a bad idea to use all 3 ad campaigns? like say I take $150 and I split it 3 ways, $50 for yahoo, $50 for msn, and $50 for google?

just search i really didnt even mess with any settings other then 5 cent limit

with 2 dollars remaining in credit I'm at $155 I doubt I will get any more sales but I'm satisfied. Now that's all profit but of course if it was my $60 it would be $95 profit which is still good.

of course promoting a product that is only like $10 commission would have a high chance of losing you money, but when it's $30 for commission I think it's a little easier to get back your investment. I would never put more then $50 of my own money into adwords at a time though.

now the big question, what are you going to do next? that $155 is burning a hole in your pocket and wants to be free. it's kinda like gambling... double down or walk away from the table?

Ill take it and do it again only ill put 50 on adwords, ill wait to see what results I get and if I make the money back i will do 50 on yahoo and 50 on msn.

Worst scenario I lose it and am back at nothing, not a big deal as its not money out of my pocket. it will be awhile before i even get a clickbank check to do it again.

Adwords gets a bad rap sometimes through the ignorance or the people using it. When I first used it I was ignorant as hell. I dumped a couple hundred keywords into a campaign without any real research and lost about $300 in a couple hours.

Just getting started I was destroyed. My whole monthly advertising budget gone with nothing to show...

Well I guess I have a story to tell...

you might be following the right way where others who fail don't. If you got any tips why don't create a product of your own if it is that good.

There is nothing at all wrong with adwords, in fact PPC is the most effective way to get fast results, targetted traffic and split test and analyse those results. The issue comes as most newcomers get burned because they dont setup campaigns correctly, dont split-test, have too many keywords per adgroup etc etc. With the right knowledge they are an extremely effective tool.

I would agree with one of the other posters regarding being lucky. The problem with many CB products is if you use their marketing resources the conversion rates can be pretty low which of course if you arent making sales means your PPC spend can become costly.

I'd double down and let it roll.... remove the low keywords and keep an eye on the cb charge backs, they could take chunk out of your profits very quickly. I'm no expert... just personal thoughts.

I think that many people try to use MSN, Adwords or YSM before they understand the visitor value.

Those who don't get this may earn a couple of hundred (or even thousand) dollars, but after the competition refine their funnel, their income will dry up because they will not be able to compete.

Anyway, if you already have a funnel with upsells, backends and you are offering something for free in the front end, you should do well IF you always work on making your funnel more effective.
