Backlinking Youtube(and similar sites) videos

Video marketing is something I've yet to get heavily into, but I feel the time has come to really create a presence for some of my sites this way. I've actually carefully planned something, where I want to get on to the front page of google for a highly searched phrase with a video, which will have a link to a CPA offer next to it. There are 2 Youtube videos on there already, one has 7 backlinks(I checked with Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch ) and the other has 42. I'm confident I can not only build way more backlinks, but overtake them on the front page of Google in time with my video. I just wanted to ask about the actual backlinks on here. I'll be using my usual tools and resources - Article Bot, Angela and Paul's Backlink packets, The Link Juicer and some forum posting/blog commenting. In terms of social bookmarking sites - do any of them block Youtube links? I know a couple of them block EZA links for example.

I'd really like to hear from some of you that have successfully backlinked and ranked your videos - how long did it take you? How much traffic did you get? What % did you convert at? I'm 99% sure I'm going to go ahead with this project/experiment(don't want to give it away right now ) and afterwards I will hopefully post a step by step of how I did it, if it's successful

    Dear friend,
I am so sorry that I did not use any video link yet . So I am unable to give you the accurate answer. But it seems to me that some may block whereas some may not.It will be better if you read the terms and condition of each site.
Another thing is that no back link checker is able to show you the exact back link statistic.
I hope the following post/video will give you the real answer -

Hi Monsur, you're right - I usually just use backlink checker tools like the one I posted in my OP as a rough guide

    Greetings Liam,

Just a word of caution as you get started... don't fall in love with your stats in the beginning. Accept going in that every single video you upload will generate different viewing stats, different click through rates and of course different conversion rates.

I've uploaded a few thousand videos and have come to the conclusion that it is nearly impossible to get a read on YouTube traffic except that when it works it's a beautiful thing. The problem is some videos "hit hard" and some just don't.

Sure paying attention to basic title, tag and description SEO'ing helps but even with that it's still a bit of a crap shoot.

That said there just is absolutely too much traffic and potential there to ignore.

    Just my thoughts.
