How can `local search` out number ` Global search` ??

Hi guys,
Just a quick question when using a keyword tool i sometimes notice that `local search` has more searches per month than ` global search` how can this be ? Isn`t global search the amount of seaches combined ?

    Most of the time, they mean it more like this.

    Local search is when you say "show me pizza places in my area, so I can get a pizza delivered."

    Global search is when you say "show me pizza places anywhere in the world, so I can sell them pepperoni."
