I've read that if you do this, the sites should be spread around to different hosts. Don't know how true this is.

Yes they'll have to be on different c class IP addresses.

The key is NOT to close the linking loop. It appears artificial and Google will catch on very quickly.

    Dizen,

This is commonly called a "link wheel" especially when you close the last leg of the loop. One of the most effective ways of doing it is by using article directories or high PR web2.0 pages which all have different IP's.

Search around for "link wheels" or you can take a look at my signature where I give away free videos/info on link wheels that you might find helpful.

Jeff, I think the OP was referring to his own sites. A linkwheel refers to web2.0 properties not owned by the OP.

If he is going to do a linkwheel with his own websites on the same ip addresses he is going to run into some issues.

If he does linkwheels like he SHOULD (with high pr web 2.0 sites) then obviously there won't be an issue.

Agreed, if he does use his own sites all hosted on the same IP, it'll do more harm than good. A "link wheel" is simply interlinking a group of websites (regardless of if they are your domains or hosted web2.0 pages). The current popular method is using web2.0 properties, but you can do it with your own blog network, mini-site networks, etc..

Dizen, if your sites are all on different hosting companies then you should be fine. If you are using a single hosting company and have all IP's through them, see if you can get white label name servers PER IP so that it minimizes your footprint even further (otherwise a RDNS might show same name server).

i use seo hosting, all of my sites resides on different ip address c class.

I shouldn't put Outbound links on the money page, correct? and what do you guys mean with close/not to close the loop , close it or not?

Why do we should use web 2.0 properties for building link wheel? Why not just use our own sites?

    Thanks!!!

FYI all of my websites are money sites but I plan to set my most profitable site as the center of the link wheel. Am I doing it right?

linkwheel now = bad for Google as it now looks for that loop of links. Some people are now using "link lines" I believe which is a derivative of that strategy.

I changed my linking strategy to serial linking . It's not a link wheel

    site a > site b > site c > site d > site e > site f > site g > h

site a,b,c,d,e,f,g,h all link to site x . site x is my most important/profitable site

    Thoughts please. Thanks!
