Hello fellow warrior,

Let say I am going to target a long tail keyword "Bali Island Resort"
in 3 different countries: US, UK & Australia.

All the while I only focus all my energy in google.com and building
the backlink for my main website and it rank quite well in google.com

But then when I check my ranking in google.co.uk, google.co.au, the results
are not as good as the google.com.

Is there any ways to improve the result in all the google local?like uk, au & ca?

What you guys do if you are trying to target a different google local?
Is it same method that you use in google.com?

Thanks

I linked to authority sites that have several visitors from that countries. I sometimes create sub-domains/folders and put several articles that is focused on that visitors with link to my main site. For example "Bali Island Resort discount for Australian" articles, blog posts, press release, reviews, etc.

      Thanks Ross,

It sound to me that a lot of works to be done if I am targeting different
      countries.

If I keep building more link to my website, will it helps to raise my ranking in
other google local as well? Is this only wasting my resource?

and I should go for customization to each country as you suggested?

cheyingtan, the answer of TheCrabb is correct. You have to make them think you are in that country or your contents are helpful to those countries.
