I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I have good keywords with limited competition, I sumbited 2 articles to goarticles.com and 1 to ezinearticles(that hasn't been aproved yet), submitted my site to Bing and Yahoo, and I put my sight link up at digg.

I honestly don't know what else to do.

Google will come indexing faster than the others. So,wait for Google to Index first and don't hurry that much.

Also,It isn't a good idea to submit a website to search engines.Instead submit 2-3 articles to websites that are likely to be crawled frequently(Article Directories).
Don't be worried.Wait for the articles to get accepted.I am sure, you will have a indexed site after article gets published.

Submit it to Social Bookmarking sites especially digg.com and it will get indexed pretty soon. I also do the same and my sites get indexed within hours and sometimes instantly !

Just be patient. It'll happen soon... I find it often takes a week or two, even when doing all the above. Best to move on and start on a new blog, rather than check every hour to see if you are indexed yet (lol, speaking from experience here...)

If you had a wordpress blog, BTW, you may want to make sure the privacy settings aren't set to block the googlebots... that'll keep you from being indexed :-(

    4 days?
When it comes to Google it is hurry up and wait.
If Google were a person it would take them 4 days just to go to the bathroom.
Just do the things that have been repeated on this forum over 1,000,000 times and you will do fine.

If you use wordpress and did not get index for a few days after submitting articles.. or to digg.. there must be something wrong with your wordpress setting.
go.. to the setting tab.. go to privacy tab.. and choose :

I would like my blog to be visible to everyone, including search engines (like Google, Sphere, Technorati) and archivers

Umm, false. I've had WP sites take over a week to get indexed even with proper XML sitemap submission.

What you have to do is get a Google Analytics site and add their snippets of javascript and tags into your html. Then click the "verify my site" button on GA and they will check it immediately. From there you have to wait for their spiders, but I've always had them visit within 12 hours after that.

It can take months for Google to index your site.

Build your backlinks slowly and provide original quality content.

A press release might help speed things up.

I don't normally go crazy with backlinking until I have seen that Google has been to the site or it is indexed somewhere, i.e. Yahoo, Bing, etc. It looks too suspicious that someone socially bookmarked your site when it hasn't even been indexed by a search engine.

    Does that make sense?

Did you ping it? I just added 6 new pages to one of my sites and within an hour 4 of them had been indexed. I just did a ping on each one. That always gets my pages indexed within an hour or two. The longest it's taken is 36 hours.

Submit your website to Clipmarks and do some social bookmarking to mix, reddit etc etc.
A good software is Incansoft SocialBot. Download the clipmarks plugin from

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1407

This will really boost the speed of indexing your website.

    1. Ping every page to pingomatic
    2. Submit each page to digg, stumbleupon, reddit and mixx as a minimum
    3. Get a blogger blog and do some relevant posts each containing a link to one page
    4. Start building backlinks - slow and steady - and make sure each is indexed by submitting the URLs they are on to dig etc as well.

Well I agree with Burtgummer. Except mine is a .net domain. I've also had the same problem -2 weeks - with a .com name.

I've created a wp site, put 2 posts on it, added 5 pages, built a sitemap and submitted the sitemap to webmastertools. I've bookmarked it to digg, delicious, and about 5 others (propeller, mixx, mister wong etc). I've pinged the site from inside wp and also from pingler. Then I've pinged the bookmarks.

And to top it off I've made a youtube video with the links to my site.

5 days later it hasn't even been crawled yet. The bookmarked links are showing up, but not the site.

I think the days of getting indexed in hours are GONE (at least for the last couple of months anyway).

If your site hasn't been crawled in 5 days, something is blocking it.

If it's a Wordpress site, go to Settings, Privacy and make sure that the "I want to block my site from search engines" isn't checked.

If it's a static site, open up a notepad and save an empty file as robots.txt and upload it to your root.

      Ping your site pingoat.com

Let us know how this works-- if you need help, PM me.

      Warmly,

      Brandi

I think something is up, too. I've gotten indexed, in the sense that a Google "site:mysite.com" shows one site in there, but that's after doning their Webmastertools/analytics thing. If I forget to force google to find me in their tools/analytics it takes days.

My main problem right now is that Google isn't ranking my sites in the first 200 pages, and that's bad, since I'm only developing these sites if they're going to be on page 1 or 2. The other big problem is that neither Yahoo nor MSN/Bing has indexed any of my last 6 sites, which have been live for over a week. I have no idea what it takes to get indexed by Yahoo; three of my sites show up on page 1 or 2, and over a dozen sites haven't been indexed at all. Very strange.

Not sure why everyone is saying to post a link on SBS and article directories will get you indexed quickly?

I have many sites that have had to wait months to be indexed by google and they have all had at least 20 articles and social bookmarks to them.

Google does as it pleases and you just have to wait and thats it.
