Is anyone familiar with Dexknows. They are our yellow page provider, but as part of our yellow page advertising we signed on with the internet marketing part. That part cost us 150.00 per month. I believe it includes some adsense type stuff but don't remember.

Last year I started to read up on internet marketing and my eyes started to glaze over so when dex called and said they do that I just went with them, it appears we are high on google with some keywords and even #1 on some.

Our business is a small trophies/engraving/awards brick and mortar. We do have a shopping cart with one of our vendors and find it moderately successful and worth the 100.00 per month.

Do you think paying dex 150.00 per month for internet seo and ads is worth it.

Is there anything more I can do or should I switch to a service (maybe one of you guys) and put our 150.00 per month (or more???) to better use for internet marketing. We also are considering email marketing and we need help with that also.

Right now we are at 803.00 per month for combination yellow pages and internet with dex plus the 100.00 per month shopping cart, but really it is 250.00 per month towards internet marketing.

I host that through host excellence and it is about 60.00 per year. I built my tan website myself through sitebuilder.

I can't post my link through here but my business is abbott trophies in Las Vegas.

  • All they do is buy ads which you can do yourself.

Your site already comes up #1 in Google for Las Vegas Trophies because I assume they registered for Google Local Which you can do yourself.

To be honest and you are not going to like what I am about to say... but your site is horribly boring. Awful colors. Your shop site is much better.

In my opinion you would be better off paying someone locally to manage your campaign and redesign your site than giving money each month to Dex.

If I cancelled dex internet, would I lose my #1 position in google or is something they are doing "monthly" keeping me there?

I'd just buy some PPC traffic via Google and Yahoo and then do craigslist postings to your local market changing up the offers every week. You should be flooded with work if you do both those things.

I would cancel if I were you. If you do some more research on SEO you will find that building links to your website is not terribly difficult. The real question is whether you have the time to actually do it.

I don't want to do it myself, I get overwhelmed very easily with all this info.

Does anyone have any opinions as to where $$$ are better spent, more on yellow pages than internet???

I say internet is the way to go, but yet we still get a ton of calls from the yellow pages, so I do think I need to be there but maybe not a display ad?

I would also like the back the craigslist idea, craigslist is an excellent source for local business.
