Is there a wrong way to use ping.fm???

Just set up ping.fm (took ages) and are starting to use it to list various sites/pages such as my link wheel sites.

Before getting carried away I'd like to know how other people use ping.fm. I can easily see that excessive listings with ping.fm will clutter up the accounts attached to ping.fm and cause a backlash from google.

So my question is can you do too much listing with ping.fm? How much do you think is too much and how to other people use ping.fm?
