Article Relevance - Does it Matter?

I have been working xFactor's plan and have seen MANY differing opinions on this one. If you are using articles in the way John is telling you (with putting your links in the resource box, completely irrelevant), how is it working for you?

I'm not following the course you mentioned, but I do a lot of article marketing, so thought that I would give you my opinion anyway...

It's best to have your resource box be at least slightly relevant to the body text of your article.

So, if you want to link back to a website on grills, you don't have to write an article on grills (though this would be best), but you could write an article on food, cooking, hosting a barbecue, etc.

If your resource box is totally irrelevant to the rest of the article, then others will be less likely to publish it on their website or blog.

Some webmasters still will, but not as many as would do if the resource box was relevant.

From my experience, relevant resource boxes DO drive clickthroughs. MY CTR was sky high as I used to write relevant articles to my content. However, since using John's method, my CTR is non existent, however on the positive side, I have noticed that writing for more generic topics does actually get more articles published and viewed a lot mroe quickly. I kind of agree with Makr though, one needs to strike a balance and try to make it a little relevant.

If its just for backlinks then write abotu whatever you want. If you want it for traffic then its a no brainer, you DO need it to be relevant. I have found the more targetted it is, the higher my CTR but as is the classic scenario, this traffic in most cases does tend to dillute after about 2 weeks.

    Good luck
