Is there any benefit in submitting one article to hundreds of Article Directories?

If so, which benefits?

Thank you

Just target the top directories since they are the ones with authority. Ive submitted to lots of uknown directories and although they have showed up as backlinks, they havent really help my rankings much.

I'm hoping someone can tell me to the contrary!

Check out this list, it even gives you if the links will be no follow or not...

As stated above just submit to the top and for me that just means EzineArticles and GoArticles, I know it's a pain waiting for Ezine but it's always worth it as anytime I search Yahoo backlinks for my sites, they usually pop up first.

I hope that you don't mind me asking a related question that has been bugging me.

So if I have an article for my site, and spin it to publish on a few directories, does this make sense? I am thinking that the article is saying the same thing but using different words to do it, and then have a link in it to point to my site. So if anyone actually clicks on the link, they will see the same information. Or what am I missing? I understand the importance of getting the back links to drive my site up the SERPS, but isn't the idea of publishing articles to generate traffic?

Also, would I want to put all of the links pointing to my home page, or point them to various articles that are on the site?

I am thinking of this in terms of generating traffic to a site with Adsense and or ads for Clickbank or other products. A blog more than likely.

    Thanks for your feedback.

    Hi Tim,

You are not missing anything. Many people use the same article on their blog and on their site. It saves time BUT does it provide real value to send the reader back to read the same or a rehash?

I always write unique articles for my sites and then I write related articles for the directories which I may spin a bit for different ones.
I will provide value in the article directories but at the same time I may leave them wanting more information which I point them to in the resource box...ie "So now that you have learned to do blah blah find out how you can make blah blah even better by visiting (website)" that type of thing.

As far as adsense and clickbank that really depends on the site. I have sites where I am selling products and I don't want my readers to click away for a few cents so they don't have adsense.
I also have made for adsense sites. I usually include an affiliate link or two also ...but then there are others who wont mix the two. So that is preference.

The one thing I do with all my sites is provide value to my readers.

I have seen some websites come good at SERP due to article marketing alone - the whole inbound link profile contained only around 1000 links and just from 2 or 3 unique root domains.

What do you mean by just from 2 or 3 unique root domains. Do you mean the links were coming from only 2 or 3 places like say EzineArticles and Go?

I understand that Search Warp and Article Base are no follow are you getting good results with them?

Someone else mentioned that Article Dashboard was well behind in approving articles. So not sure what is going on there.

Submitting articles can be a good source of traffic for your site. Specially if the content is really good and relevant.

The way I understand it is that the SE's will look at only one article (if they are all the same) and index that one article. I always spin my articles so that I have a different article for each directory. Some of the High end directories don't like you submitting duplicate content to them. So I can't see wasting all that time submitting the same article to hundreds of directories (which many of them don't review and publish your article anyway) only to not get anything out of it.

You have got to understand you need to make your articles unique. If you duplicate your content your not going to be ranked on Google very high. I have software I run to help with this and give me at least a 30% unique ratio for my articles. With about a hour of work I can take one article and turn it into 30 + unique articles that MAKE SENSE when someones reading them.

If I do decide to respin an article, its generally about 80-90% different to the original.

Forget any software, just use Word and put in all the variations. It takes time but boy does it work. This way you control the content and its not just rubbish you are churning out but actual content that is of value to your user.

Like Sean said above, being able to create many artices from 1 can be extremely powerful, just imagine you could create about 20 web properties within the hour, all you have to do is copy and paste. ANyway, I digress.

Hope it heps and good luck!
