Are people really paying up to $20 a click? You could easily lose 1000s in a matter of hours. How can you attack a competitive market with these prices?

Start small and build up to it.. if you are making profit it doesn't matter if the clicks are $100

In highly competitive markets you will have to pay $10 and upwards for a click. However you need to focus on your conversion and focus on small group of keywords. There were campaigns where I would have a single keyword @ $25 CPC and $15k daily budget.

Choose your keywords wisely and have your good plan of attack.

I think he's talking about the other side of the game; Adsense..

Already touched on, but yeah.. you can wedge yourself into a competitive market without spending an arm and a leg per click if you do your research and have a 'quality' situation.

In through the back door.. or the doors less traveled.

you can also get around those higher priced clicks by getting your Q score to 10. If you have a Q score of 10, your clicks may be as much as 30% lower than ads around you.

      Hi,

The keywords that people pay 10-20$ per keywords are the general one, such as MLM, Home based business, etc.

Make your ads more specific. Also, chose more targeted keywords to your niche. You will pay less per keywords.

People can pay $20 per click due to the lifetime value of the customer. Even if they make initial loss in PPC but keep the buyer for a long time that's where they make a profit, and the campaign is successful.

The high price you see is an "entry" price , if your campaign CTR is successful and you get high scores google lowers your bid price.

Also the 1st spot on page is the most expensive but 2nd and 3rd can cost way less and statistically get more clicks. You don't have to be on 1st spot to make money.

Keywords that are that expensive are usually in the insurance or mortgage industry. And even then they can be upwards of $50.00 click.

better start with small amount first ie $0.30 or $1.00 per click

  • Look for something were the top spot isn´t that expensive. At least if your website doesn´t make a profit when paying $10 per click.

Maybe focus on longer tail keywords OR if you're new to all of this, start in
a different less competitive niche where the CPC is significantly lower.

I have a campaign I'm running right now where my average cost per click is $.23 (cents)
and my ROI so far is 1380%

Get 10 or 20 of those and you don't even need to play in those high cost per click markets.

Also, if you think outside of the box just a little, you can compete in those expensive
markets for much less than $10 a click. You're just bidding on the wrong keywords.

    Hope this helps
