Buying aged domains with PR?

Is anyone using this strategy? does it work?

Is it better to just do a 301 redirect or use the domain as is?

Any risks and how to avoid them?

Anything else that may be helpful please share.

Thanks

I use them and they work. If you do a 301 re-direct it will pass the authority to the site your pointing to.

And that's how I generally use them. But if I can find a domain that fits for a niche site I'm planning on building then I might use it for that.

Just be sure the PR of the site isn't faked. Use a service like "check page rank" (Check Page Rank!) to verify PR before you buy.

    All the best,
    Steven

Just as you can redirect and pass authority so can some dishonest sellers. Check the backlinks, but even then sometimes you can't tell if it's faked/redirected or not. If it is don't be suprised if the PR disappears. PR isn't updated in real time so it might take a while.
