i see there are 100+ SE's on the web. Do i need to submit my website to all the SE's?

I heard somewhere that once you get a couple of backlinks your website automatically is indexed in google (without submitting your website to them) is that true? does it work like that with all SE's?

Thanks guys

Internet marketing is a numbers game the more the better. You will be surprised at what people will type in to come find your site and where your traffic comes from

If you submit your site to google and get it indexed then most of the other SE's will find you automatically. Google has the largest share of search traffic, 60%+, followed by Yahoo and Bing(MSN) I think. So if Google sees you then you have hit most of the market.

Let Google know you are there by verifying your site in Google Webmaster and also submit a sitemap.

Then the SEO fun begins, trying to get up the SERPS to page 1

I've not test this yet, but in theory if you submit to all search engines, and ping the SERP page for each search engine, they should be consider a backlink each, back to your site!

Please PM me if anyone did try this...
