I noticed an entire section of the forums dedicated to buying backlinks... Are backlinks really worth buying has anyone actually had success buying backlinks?

Buying 1 way backlinks can be very powerful, but you need to ensure the site linking to yours is good quality, and doesn't have too many other links.

Also, a pretty good way to find quality backlinks without paying someone else is look for other IM sites that are ranked on page #1 for competive keywords in your niche.

Then go to Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch (there are better tools, but this one is FREE) and find where they are getting their backlinks from. Then just go through and copy where they got theirs from .

depends on the backlinks you are looking to buy.

Buying a spot on the blogroll of a blog that has high authority and is active can be huge.

The traffic, backlinks and authority you are buying and is being passes to your site can make a huge difference.

But, it can also be very expensive.

Ditto.. any site that allows automated software to take advantage of it usually links out to thousands of sites and is more or less a useless link. I like to search for a keyword, find the top ten sites and then enter the urls into Yahoo site explorer. Try to get some of the high PR links that the top sites have. Buy high quality links if you have the money. They are worth it if you are promoting a good offer and it converts.

I agree. Watch out for any type of auto submitted software. I have more success with buying links on a RELEVANT blog that has good traffic.

There's nothing wrong with automated software, you just need to know how to use it properly.

I never sell my links but I got an email a few weeks back from someone who said he wanted to buy a link on my site. My website PR rank is only 2. he asked for a one year link, how much should I quote him? Or maybe I should not even run the risk?

          Hi,

I dont find this a good practice as, I have never gone through this but according to me it will be better if we move further with natural backlinks as, natural backlinks works the best though it takes efforts but, works good to get on the top.

          Thanks!!

  • I read somewhere a while ago that Google had a new algorithm patented that detects link spam footprints. For instance, if somebody is selling backlinks for let´s say $50 a month for a PR 6 link, these link buyers keep coming and going. They pay a few month, or only one month, and then stop paying and their linke will be removed and the website owner sells the link space to somebody else. A website like this, with constantly changing links to other sites, has a link spam footprint and can be detected by the new software. With a link on such a site it can become dangerous. Google also penalizes link buyers, not only sellers.

If it was actually true that Google penalized link buyers then people could easily penalize their competitors.

I simply dont buy that. Even if Google bothers to monitor frequent link changes they coiuld not start penalizing sites on a suspicion alone. This is another case of Google spreading th fear. Remember religion, when people were made to conform through a set of inconsistent, ever changing rules and laws - Google is using the same tactics.

  • building quality backlinks is hard and quite expensive. There are many good quality backlinking companies.Budget for about $1000
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[1330776].message }}
  • May be not on suspicion alone. But they could examine the sites by a real human. You can report link spam in your webmastertool account. So I expect Google has hired some people only for doing research on link spam. This new software exists to make it easier for those people. To make their work more efficient, instead of wasting time by examining the wrong websites.

Of course I don´t know for sure what Google´s policy really is. But I would be careful with buying links.
