Hi all, I am considering getting some one way links to my website and would just like advice about a mob I just found, I don't want to jump straight in because my experience in the past, I payed for links and didn't get what was claimed. This is the website I'm considering at the moment;

Subscribe To One Way Text Links

Now they charge about $24 dollars per month, which is not much really, however I don't want to throw money away.
All the help greatly appreciated, thank you , Pierro

Don't pay for text links unless you want to be penalized

You'd be better off going to odesk and hiring a link builder for about $2 - $4 per hour.

Thanks heaps guys, you saved me from possibly making a big mistake. I will check out odesk, I'm a little bit curious, how many links can be accomplished in 1 hour?
    Thanks for your help.

Hi again Dink, I just went to Odesk and didn't see anything about link building, do I actually have to post a job? How do I go about it? Than you in advance.

As others have mentioned I would be very ... very careful with
link networks unless you really know what your doing. Furthermore,
with solid onpage seo you can rank dam well with few links.

When it comes to link building quality trumps quantity all day long
    (Google).

    Best,

Thank you everyone, your help is really appreciated, funny thing has happened and I don't know if it's by coincidence but I received an email just now from a link exchange offer, does anyone know of this mob: FxWork: The Source for FX Trading Online

This was the email I received:
    Hi,
I'm Eric, the Web-admin of FxWork: The Source for FX Trading Online and several other Forex sites.
I encountered patriox.com and was wondering if you would like to exchange some text links with me. I have a wide variety of sites from which I can offer you quality links.
I am interested in links coming from the homepage and am willing to provide the same.
Let me know if you are interested in getting more details and we'll take this forward.
    Kind regards,
    Eric Watts

Does this seem legit? Ive checked out the website and it looks great and I also checked the traffic rank in alexa and that seems ok as well, but have to be careful.
    Thank you again, pierro

Be careful how you do your "backlink building" don't just think in terms of breadcrumbs. Please take time to participate in the communities you wish to infiltrate. You will do much better in the long run for yourself and the internet.

Thanks for the great advice Brad, I am doing my best to be careful, that's why I posted here first before taking the plunge. I want to be sure that I get relevant links to my website, for example; if I was selling cars then I wouldn't get links from a pet store I'll make sure that it was related to cars and I would also make sure that the rep is not bad, does this sound right?
    Thanks, pierro

The site doesn't look legitimate. Better find someone who can build links for your site. Hire someone you can pay "one time" and not monthly.

I agree, odesk is the best place to hire people at a low rate!
