Which is better for SEO on an existing site-Blog or Forrum

I am working for a company who has several web sites. they want to improve thier SEO. Which would be more effective to ad to the site - A blog, or a forrum for people to leave comments on, or both or neither? If neither, what is the best way to do this? Any help is appreciated.

    Having more page for google to index will improve your odds of getting more traffic. It depends on how much quality you offer people. If you offer a quality blog or forum then people will link to it and it will gain SEO power. If it's a crap blog or forum it won't do much. Those types of social platforms work best with user participation.

    Many, if not most, company forums fail because they lack content. A forum with very little content or inappropriate content is probably worse than no forum at all.

    On the other hand, a blog is under the company's control. Regular high quality posts backed up by some article marketing, posting on popular industry forums, etc., should do a great job of promoting the website.

    Before promoting the website, however, make sure that it is not only worth visiting but that it gives visitors a good reason to come back. Give an incentive to sign up for an email list too.

    I prefer a blog to forum. I'm not an expert at differentiating between a blog and forum, but I just think that a blog is easier to set up and maintain compared to a forum.

    But if you are not particular about the inconvenience then you can go for either. I think there is no right or wrong answer as to which is better. It all depends on the quality of the content.

    Get it right first:

    A blog is for you to publish content and perhaps built a little feedback session with anyone whom is interested in your content.

    A forum, on the other hand, is solely for maintaining a community.

    For SEO, I would say go for the blog option between the two.

    Here are few of my favorite link building methods:

    1. Bookmarking - not much link power for long-term, but great for short-term!
    2. Articles - spin bunch of articles and submit it to directories for backlinks!
    3. Convert website to software, submit it to software directories
    4. One way profile links - Angela's backlink, Paul's Backlink, Terry Kyle backlinks and many more.

    I use the combination of all these method to get solid long term ranking for any keyword I select to rank...

      I would suggest you to go for Blog if you don't have a separate team to maintain the section. Forum requires lots of information and maintenance.
