Google AdSense on your blog

Hi yall.

I would like to ask for your opinions.

Would it be a good idea to put Google AdSense ads on my WP blog, considering that my blog has an affiliate link to the product that I'm promoting?

Will the Google ads steal my my prospects? Or will it distract/confuse the visitors? I don't mind getting extra income from google ads but if they are gonna steer the prospects away from the affiliate product then I would rather not have them.

Opinions please?

But what if I have google ads on my affiliate website/blog? Would that lead to any problems?

          My concern is this.

On my blog I have a link which goes to my squeeze page where I get them to subscribe. However if I place google ads on my blog, what if the visitors click on the ads which redirect them to another website that's in my niche, and they end up purchasing from them instead of the merchant I'm affiliating for?

I want google ads so that I can get income from an extra source, but if it will ruin my affiliate business i wouldn't wanna put google ads on my blog.

Ok That clears it up I thought you were asking if it was against Google TOS or likewise- an actual policy concern.

I don't have an answer for you, unfortunately. Some people would say "split test", etc. etc. And while that may well be the empirical answer to your dilemma, I have no idea. I put up far too many sites to split test anything. It wouldn't be practical and I'd make no money by utilizing my time that way.

If I were you, I'd go with my gut. I'd put some adsense blocks up and see what type of ads are cycling through. I'd also make sure that I have Stat Press installed on my blog to see how your people are finding you and what they are doing afterwards. If you put Adsense on and you don't like what you're seeing (for example you have a high CTR), then yank it.

I'm sorry I don't have better answers for you I use both on nearly every site I have.

Best of luck and let us know what you decide and how it works out

    Warmly,

      Ok. Thank you! (:
I don't have Stat Press, but I have Google Analytics on my blog. Is that ok? Or should I have both installed?
