Other Ads and Adsense on same site?

After reading the adsense TOS the following confuses me a bit:
3.Communications Solely With Google. You agree to direct to Google, and not to any advertiser, any communication regarding any Ad(s) or Link(s) displayed in connection with Your Property(ies).

I have seen others say they put amazon links on their adsense sites, and I have seen clickbank ads on other adsense sites. Is this not allowed?

Thanks

Where are you people getting your information from?
        It sure isn't from google.

You quote a tidbit from google that has absolutely nothing to
do with showing 3rd party ads on your site.

        Three words: google allows it.

Putting an amazon ad for a book, cd, etc. next to your adsense is legit.

Haven't you people ever visited big sites? Like squidoo? Notice the great big
amazon ad at the top? Then below that google ads? Oh. Plus the fact that
they allow you to cram your lens with all sorts of 3rd party ads. They want
        revenue!

Thanks for the info! I was grasping at straws after reading a ton of other people with all sorts of conflicting ideas. You actually made sense and backed it up with some examples.

Actually a good niche site will feature a mix of AdSense with all kinds of other ads. Feel free to follow the link in my sig to see some of the ones I design for an example. I think newbies just get confused because there are so many people out there talking about and selling "AdSense sites," as if AdSense was something exclusive to everything else.

            Cheers,

Ok here is our problem with the second line:
              ----------------------------------------------
"communication regarding any Ad(s) or Link(s) displayed in connection with Your "Property(ies)."
              ----------------------------------------------
If we read this literally - to us this would mean "ANY" advertisers or links on any site that is our property

              - Not just website/properties that have advertisers / links that are part of the Adsense program
              - and not just say - one - site - but all properties/websites - regardless whether the program is used on the individual properties/sites.

So - for us - we aren't going near it .... as in our interpretation for ourselves - that would then give them complete control over the sites.

This is not to be taken as legal advice in any way shape or form.

These are decisions that we have made for ourselves only - and until their wording is modified - as we said - we won't go there.

              - or until we hear different from Google ...

We welcome other's thoughts on this topic

              Thanks

#3 just means they don't want you doing an end-run around Google to talk directly with the advertisers.

As far as Adsense and Amazon, everything I read is that it's totally ok. Other contextual ads with Adsense is not so clear, and probably not ok.
