Adwords doesn't track sales exactly

In last days we found interesting thing: Adwords doesn't track sales/revenue so exactly as our affiliate program.

We always fight with problem, that we don't know how much we really earned from specific marketing channel. Adwords is for our company one of the marketing channels and we would like to know how much money we earned from this channel.

We discovered, that adwords doesn't count sales exactly. e.g. it doesn't count cross browser sales or sales after some time between click on adwords link and sale.

We solved it with our affiliate program and now is adwords defined as one of our affiliates and visitors are coming from adwords through "adwords" affiliate link. Now we know exactly how much adwords earned exactly, because we can track this also with huge delay between click of visitor and sale of visitor.

BUT we faced next huge problem ... our affiliate software assigned commissions always to first affiliate, which referred visitor to our site.
So in case visitor clicked on our adwords link after he visited our site through any other affiliate in the past, we had bad luck and sale was not assigned to adwords affiliate again .... metrics was again not good.

WE FOUND SOLUTION:
We activated feature Split Commissions and if one sale is referred by more affiliates, we split commission between all of them.
This means, that we will know exactly share of adwords affiliate on the sale.

Now we know exactly how much we can spend in adwords to keep our marketing on adwords efficient. I think this is target of all of you.

BTW: In the past was worst case, when we payed for click adwords, but commission was assigned to another affiliate - this is also solved with Split Commission feature.

Also is very important, that now are all our affiliates satisfied, that they get commissions really from each sale they refer and not randomly.
In the past they even didn't know, that they referred any sale, because any other affiliate was first, which received commissions.

I'm sure splitting of affiliate commissions between more affiliates will become buzz word in affiliate marketing in next weeks.
