Getting Some Sales - Can't Get Over The Hump!

Hi all,

After a week and half of my very first PPC campaign on Google Adwords, I have had moderate success put still trailing at a net loss, not in a bad way, but can't seem to get over that hump.
I will get a sale or 2 1 day, nothing for a couple of days, then 1 sale here and there with no sales on other days.
I have set my daily budget just a bit beyond what the normal commission proceeds would be for 1 sale.

Created a landing page with the whole Google friendly links to a blog, Privacy, etc. and so on.
Have submitted a few articles hoping that would help.

But I just can't seem to figure out what I need to do to give it that extra push. My keyword CTR's are hovering around 3% and ad CTR's about the same.

Maybe it's the competition, maybe I need to word the landing page better. I'm sure I've made some rookie mistakes on the angle of the landing page.

Any of the experts in the forum have any good ideas where I need to focus my time on improvement?

Thanks all!

    A few tips:

**Not all keywords convert the same. So, find out which of your keywords are converting. Track them.
**Once you've found out the ones that convert, build up those keywords (ie: synonyms, alternatives, misspellings, etc. Toss out the ones that don't convert.
**Test your offer first. Do you have a 30/60/90 MBG? Bonus? If not, you may want to improve your offer.
**Don't worry so much about your competition. If you're getting sales, you're on the right track. You just need to get more $$$ per visitor to your site. So cross sell, up sell and even down sell. In this way you'll make more money per visitor to your site.
**Testing is key. So test landing page copy, but test your offer first.

    Hope this helps.
