Some odd issues with some keywords in Adwords account

I've been wondering about this for a while about some of my keywords in my Adwords account.

How is it possible that a keyword is in position 1.3 yet its keyword status shows that it is below the first page bid? You would assume that position 1.3 would be in the first page and at the very top.

Adwords is a huge and complicated beast. It's constantly evolving and sometimes you see strange things. In this case however, I would be a bit concerned. What is your QS? If it's poor, that's what is triggering the message and you are in top position because of high bids. But you may not be maximizing your impressions. Are they as high as what the keyword tool says? You can also check your impression share report for the answer.

Thanks for the tip, turns out the quality score was low for that particular keyword. I've already begun making it more relevant and improving the landing page.
