Are you allowed to show Adsense on Facebook apps?

Does anyone know for sure if you are allowed to show Adsense of Facebook apps?
Someone programmed one for me and I'm about to launch it.
He put spaces for a banner ad acroess the top... and a banner ad down the left side. He has his Adsense there right now... so I know it's POSSIBLE.
However, I just wanted to make sure it was allowed by Google.
I searched Adsense and read some people saying it was allowed and some people saying it wasn't.
Does anyone here know for sure?
