domain indexing question

for some reason my sites are being indexed by google as hxxp://yourdomain dot com when i would prefer they be indexed as hxxp:// 3 w's. yourdomain dot com. does anyone know why this is happening? i have added sitemaps on google webmaster tools and have said i preferred my site to be indexed with "www" but how can i make this automatic?
also i started building xfactor sites last week and i keep checking to see if they are indexed. they are not indexed when i search site:mysitedot com but are indexed with site:hxxp://mysitedot com so, for those of you looking to see if your site is indexed, try both scenarios.
p.s., i had to put "x" and "dot" in there or because i can't post urls yet. . .
