Webpage Disappearing Due to SEO Strategies using Steve's Backlinks - Please Help!

First off let me make this clear - Steve's backlinks have been extremely great and have helped me much in the past. This post is due to unusual activity that occurred lately to my website after posting more links.

I just outsourced some of Steve's backlinks to my virtual assistant. It looks as though she posted over 30 in a short period of time (not sure how many of them "stuck"). She had informed me of some sites not allowing her to register as they marked her as spam.

Now my site is no where to be found (it used to be on top 6 of Google's 1st page).

Any suggestions please?! I would Greatly Appreciate it! - Thanks.

I wouldn't stress out that quickly. If it were that easy to be google punished, then we would all outsource those links for our competition Did you make any other changes recently? It may be nothing to do with the links.

Thanks Jayson, I also thought that Google shouldn't punish that harshly for putting up too many links.

I have not made any recent changes lately so this has been frusterating. The only think I can link this too is the amount of links because that was the only change that has occurred.

How long has this been? It's not unusual for this to happen after building backlnks.
Most often the site will come back in a few days better than before

HomeComputerGames - It's been like this for about 3 days. I've experienced my sites go down about 1 day and then go back up better in the past when building links. But this long seems rather unusual.

I think it is early to worry.

Everytime i make massive changes and/or backinks, it takes time to have my website stablilized in google searches. From one to three months.

  • Google is just software. If all of your links are of the same type it's easy for them to filter and increase ranking or decrease ranking accordingly.

Why do people think there is value in just throwing up links by the number?

I have a site ranking on page one in Google with about 20 links in a competitive business niche.

If you think that ranking is just about linking and anchor text, then you will continue to be frustrated.

When you start to get the ball rolling there is no way to really stop due to the various indexing that might happen from previous back linking. The only thing to do from that point forward is to maintain back linking for even better security. Not the same results for easy competition. My site has millions of other competitors with tough keywords so I have to continue the back linking any time if find time to do so.

Seems like you need to wait some more to see the actual results. Building too many links shouldn't hurt the SERPs this quickly. You can use this position checker to keep track of where your site stands in couple of days. And it may also be a good idea to build links at regular pace, not too much too quickly.

I think this is nothing major and your site should start appearing back in the search engines pretty soon.

Thanks for all of the helpful information here guys. I did just check the site using the tool pluto1 recommended. It does not show up using my keywords that it was on 1st page of Google for. However, when I search the site URL in Google, it does show up as if it were indexed.

It's been quite a few days now, I'll still give it time and see what happens.

Now it's been about about 12 days and site is still not showing up anywhere for my anchor text keyword I posted links through.

However - I am ranked for other keywords (that don't get searched) and site is still indexed, it just does not appear in Google for the keywords I was going for, where I previously ranked on page 1 of Google.

Since this was my main stream of income it is hard to just not do anything and remain faithful that time will fix everything.

Any tips for what I could do now please??

I would greatly appreciate any ideas that may solve this issue.

Which of the BGM packets did you recently outsource? 3/4/6/6.1?

Can you PM me the urls of the pages the outsourcer put links on?

When u used to check you rank - being on page 1 top6 - were you logged into your google account?

Who's the warrior outsourcer using my links packs to build your links?
            A. want to make sure theyre legit
            B. if she is and good, I have referrals

Id be interested in analyzing competition and how new this site is or what could be the cause.

Did you change your domain host recently ...? or any other such action that might affect.

@paullive1986 - Thanks I've looked into it more and it looks as though there is a CPA link in the site that was not there before. I usually used PHP redirects so this may have caused an issue having the CPA network link in there.

@4morereferrals - These were using Steve Heron's backlink packets from October, not BGM. Should I use BGM? I've heard they may be good. Thanks for the help.

The only thing I can think of right now is that my VA from oDesk has an IP that google has marked as spam which has ghosted my sites.

She posted only 6 backlinks for another site of mine and now that has disappeared as well (it's been about a week on this one). The original website still hasn't gone back up and that's been many weeks on end.

Has anyone else had problems with a banned or foreign IP address having this effect?

Maybe it's just a crazy theory but it's the only thing that really makes sense at this point.

Yeah - never heard of Steve. Anyway - don't stress over it. Maybe you should take it back over and do it yourself. Keep on backlinking

Yeah, maybe you changed the content or the designs and themes.

If you didn't do anything that is prohibited to google, like"b-hat", then there is nothing you need to worry.

I've experienced the same thing with my site. I was doing some backlink campaigns and some sites banned me as if I'm truly spamming.. I was just fond of visiting forums and actively participating. But in the end, the mark me as spam even if I'm not..

    Too bad!

    Hi spv,

This sounds like a frustrating problem indeed, but to put your mind at ease, if this was caused by any inbound links to your site then it would be the first time I've seen it.

To put things into perspective, I've had sites I've spammed with over 100,000k+ blog posts, forum links, and guest book entries using xrumer, and I've never noticed any form of long term "penalty" for a site from this, but rather just devaluing of the links, which can cause fluctuation in the rankings.

The domains in my package all have a high PR and will almost certainly never give you any penalty, even if you were to spam all 500 of them in a day. The worst that could happen is that the value of the inbounds links are devalued or eliminated, although this too would be unlikely given the small number of links and their quality. As Jason pointed out in his reply, if an inbound link were to cause any penalty, then this could be a method used to derank competition, and would be open to rampant abuse.

Hope this helps narrow the problem.

    - Steve

My recommendation is to NOT use only one kind of Backlink. Forum software is particularly easy for Google to eliminate from counting toward your rank. Thats Not saying you shouldn't use Steve's package but that you should mix his in with other kind of backlinks.

Remember Google's bot is software and it is extermely easy to spot say vbulletin forums. Forum backlink sites are easy to find and for the same reason are easy for Google to discount. Its not that they don't work. I'm sure Steve will point you to pretty good evidence they do but though it may be natural to get say a hundred links in a day how often is it going to be all signature links and not be the webmaster putting down his own links? Mix it up and you should be fine.

My site has disappeared from SERPS for 4-6 weeks before(when it was young) when I've done some link building.

It's hard to be patient, but it will come back eventually.

        Hi SPV,

Can you give us an update on what happened to homecomputergames since it reappeared in January?

What was the net affect to the SERPs for your targeted keywords?

        Thanks,

          Hi Brian,

I was never going after any phrase for homecomputergames, my site was for a CPA colon cleanse offer.

As for the update, it reappeared in January and then quickly got sandboxed.

The site had been indexed several times and showed up for a couple days but then would disappear again for several months. This would happen constantly.

Anyone have any tips or products/resources about getting through the sandboxing issue?

          Thanks!

So, then... either it was due to the flood of anchortext backlinks, or perhaps Google's opinion of the specific CPA offer itself, correct?

I do not really know. My 3 most recent sites are miserably sandboxed for the keyword phrase I was going for.
Could be Googles opinion, could be link related, not sure at this point.

I have heard that it's good to now build links to posts instead of your main page. Maybe that would have help?...

You can use linkwheels as a Link Spam Firewall and funnel the link juice thru 6-7-8 sites like vox - livejournal - posterous - blogger - wordpress.com -etc ...

Backlink using the various vendors link packets and point those links at the sites in the linkwheel, instead of your main $$$ sites.

This will require hundreds more backlinks - but with automation - its a non issue anymore.
