About two weeks ago the only thing rated PR0 was my homepage....So for all my hard work about 20 of my catagories and subcatagories as well as a dozen products went from n/a to RP0 (I only have 40 products total)....is that making progress? A few of my anchor text are on page one now as well....I've only been working on this website for two months so far.

What do I need to do to get to the next level??

Thanks gang!

Keep building links using the keywords you want to rank for as anchor text.

I've read on various SEO forums about a recent Google algorithm change that is slapping sites that are over-optimised in the backlink anchors for certain key phrases..Especially those that are highly contested and receive a lot of traffic. Have you or anyone else experienced a slap recently?

That's why its important, I'd say crucial, to include LSI keywords as anchor text for links as well.

Here is a good article on LSI just in case you think you've spammed your keyword to much in your site:

Takes a bit of time. But realize that PR is not the only thing. The fact you have links is a different trafic source, and you are not only interested in \'traffic\', but \'converting\' traffic.

Well today my homepage went from a PR0 to a PR3! Couple of pages went to PR1. Funny many of my PR0 went to n/a. In Dec made about $200 profit on sales. Anchor text post has helped as well as having url friendly links and SEO friendly ecart (I use Prestashop) as I have a couple of first page first link keywords now and a few more on the first page 3 to 5 down from the top...this is starting to get exciting!

With about only 40 backlnks my site went from brand new to PR4 in < 2months... haven't tried to replicate it as PR isn't my focus.

Yeah, I know PR is not that important...I get my best clue on success when I see my keywords move up the ladder and are out producing other websites that have a higher PR and more traffic...I really hate it when Google gives a higher link to a site that does not contain my exact keyword order...many are just backwards but because they rank higher than my site Google gives it to them anyway...don't see that as fair!
