Site Disappeared from the SERPs

I've been working with somebody that has their website (that he designed) by web easy 7. It's one of these sites where you don't have to know HTML, CSS, etc - basically drag and drop type gui that is very simple to setup. I can best describe like a web 2.0 property where you can add pics, video and other features.

When I started backlinking to his site - he was indexed - but not in the top 1000. He then got in around #250. I was happy - now I could start moving him up. Then his site dropped out of site. I've seen this happen before to new sites - but his site is two years old (checked on that) and has a PR of 3. I only did about 10 - 15 backlinks a day (and I'm still continuing to do it). Any reason why it would disappear off the SERPs like that? Maybe because it's one of those canned websites?

I've also worked on a friends site that was a few years old, but he hadn't done any SEO. It dropped out after I started making links, but eventually came back much higher. Seems like a variation on the dance a new site gets. Sounds a lot like what happened to you.

Dont trip ... depending on when and where you're checking it - google is playing around with their new algo -0 caffeine. Ive hada 3 yr old site go from page 1 #4 to page 38 !!! for a full day - talk about wigging out ...

Its back. Yours will be back as well. Keep building links - lots of them you'll be good. Hard tos ay fo sho' unless we saw the url and backlink profiles - but this serp dance is common.

Also - what does varying the anchor text do or not do? anchor text should be your keywords - only vary that ... if you want to rank for the variations.

      I would reword this title:
Carpet, Hardwood, and Flooring in Denver and Colorado Springs

      to:

Denver Colorado: Carpets, Hardwood and Flooring

You've got multiple H1,s on your home page....Focus on only 1 h1 and the rest should be h2's and h3's that's proper HTML

There are some more onpage seo factors you should take care of...
and once you do you'll easily rank for this keyword as it doesnt have too much competition...

Check out this post for more details...

      Good luck!

Maybe Google found something that is not appropriate to do. Unconsciously, maybe you didn't know you made an error that is prohibited by Google.
or Google just did a review on your site.

Or if you want to know, you could send an email to Google.

I would check to make sure that google has *not* deindexed the site. A quick google search for site:sitename.tld should tell you if it is still there.

If it does not show anything, then that would be an issue.

However, if the site shows up, then I would continue with the link building as you noted you were doing. It will come back.

I too have a PR3 site. It was on page 1 for a two word keyword phrase (place in italy+vacation niche word). One day, the darn thing fell off the face of the earth. Gone from the serps, but it was not deindexed. I continued the link building since it was part of my ongoing operations. A month later, it came back, and higher than before on page 1. So long as your site was not deindexed, I wouldn't lose faith, and I would continue building backlinks.

Yes , on of my website gone away from google serp. I am still keep doing link building.
I found that my website get top ten in yahoo from 131 million serp and get traffic from yahoo and bing.

I heard from other forum you can get out of sandbox by submit your press release to high PR website such as PRWEB or just put your form high authority pr site.

But I am not try yet.

  • There can be any issue. Everything looks good as to what you are saying but its better to open a webmaster account and follow the "Site Reconsideration" tab.

But make sure that you have waited for a month so that you can be sure that your site is banned and there is nothing else you can do.
