I have read a lot about backlinking your article from other articles thast you submit to other directories. But if they are no follow is it still worth doing.

Thanks

This belongs on the SEO section - Your question has been answered many times over though... No follow and do follow mean nothing. Many sites are no follow but it does not effect rankings or possible sales. Free Articles Directory | Submit Articles - ArticlesBase.com - great example, it is no follow but yet many benefit greatly from the site.

Generally, no follow links do not help you in SERPs. However, if you're looking to make a sale through articles (or just generate traffic), then it is still worth doing.

I understand Nofollow is a tag that is used to prevent the search engine robots from indexing your page. So, why do you need traffic to that page when in most cases it is supposed to be a hidden page such as a download page to a product your are selling.

The only search engine that ever used the nofollow attribute was Google. And folks from Google have indicated that they don't really pay any attention to it any more. They are trying to be a little cagey about it, but it is pretty obvious that they are putting less weight on it than they used to.
