I do a search on Google, there are NO ads - so I place an ad for the keyword using all three match types.

A full day later - there are still no ads and my ad is not showing.

Any ideas why?

Have your ads been approved by google? Is there any trademark issues with any of your keywords?

+ Also check your targeted countries and make sure you select your ad to target search, not content network or any other by mistake.

EDIT: Its most likely JayXtreme's input. Also make sure you dont put a CPC limit of under 0.05, it simply wont launch the campaign if you are starting.

It could be a variety of things..

But the most common thing I notice when n00bs (PPC n00bs) ask this question.. is because they have a low budget set for that keyword/campaign.

Google will spread the appearance of your ad over a set time, rather than all at once until your budget is gone. Google will display your ad at intervals if your budget is not high enough to have the ad running all day....They do this by default, although you can change this option.

How much daily budget did you put? and if im not mistaken there is an option there to display your ads at once, aka turbo method, to run your ads all at once or to spread it over time.
