Beating a High-Authority Site for Google #1

I will sometimes see an article on a site like Yahoo Answers or Wiki Answers with the #1 spot on a keyword. The sites have millions of domain backlinks, but the articles themselves typically have 0 backlinks. We're talking about keywords without substantial competition.

The PR for these articles is usually between 3 and 5. What would it take to beat out these authority sites for this keyword?

These words tend to get around 10,000 monthly searches, so there's something there worth fighting for.

    1. Get a keyword rich TLD (.com, .net or .org)
    2. On page optimization
    3. Build a lot of pages - internal linking structure
    4. Get GOOD links from a variety of sources - social networks, bookmarks, videos, articles, blog commenting, forum posting (paid press releases if necessary). Build multiple tiers of links. (Tier 1 links to money site, tier 2 links to tier 1 and something links to Tier 2 so that Google can find tier 2)
    5. Motivation not to give up
    6. Provide quality - Napoleon Hill said "the only way to become rich is to provide a genuine service"

With these, you should be able to reach the top for such a keyword within months.

    Good luck!

Take your blog and seo it and create articles around those keyword/answers. Make sure your articles are seo friendly also. Make several post a day to the blog and make sure you have auto ping plugin.

Take your Rss Feed submit it to as many Rss Directories as you can find. Bookmark each of those blog post using different accounts (better if friends do it) and give each post about 300 - 500 bookmarks.

You can take over the #1 spot easily and it would not take months but only a few days if you build the backlinks properly.

It takes a lot of work to get ranked highly for keywords that get 300 searches each day. Follow the steps in the previous posts, and have patients and perseverance. A keyword rich domain name, and lots of backlinks are key.
