Has this happened to you during keyword research?

So I'm sitting at my computer for the last hour and doing some serious keyword research using GAKT, google's own home page to check competition, and yahoo page to check out links.

My wife made me a new spreadsheet so I could do all the research faster (she's the best, lol.) and the next time I type in a keyword on the search page I get this:

GoogleSorry...

We're sorry...

... but your computer or network may be sending automated queries. To protect our users, we can't process your request right now.

See Google Help (link removed) for more information.

I go to the help page and it says I might be using automated software, which I'm not, which is against their TOS. And that it might be from some mailicious malware, etc. And that I should see a captcha code to verify I'm real. But nope, no captcha code to verify if I'm a person who might have a reason to be searching so much on their home page.

So now I'm wondering how long they won't let me search?

When I'm in a hurry using Micro Niche Finder, I sometimes get my IP banned for a while too. Usually it only lasts a few hours or so. You must have been plugging in search after search, huh?

You'll just need to slow down between searches, it think.

Sounds like the big "G" is giving you a time out. Happens to me all the time. Give it a few hours.

The same problem happens with Keyword Elite. I usually go to google.com and try to do a search and then get the captcha code, you could try doing that.

I also use market samurai and it seems to have a better way of treating google so I don't get my ip banned temporarily.

      Hi.

Good idea, but how do you do it?

Do you do a search by hand, and then fire up KE?

What I've ended up having to do is decrease the number of keywords I try to do a search dominator thing for. So I do a surge first, then just do a few keywords using dominator.

Before I KE would take a long time, I would then change to a browser window and do a google search manually, then I get a captcha code and something telling me that it thinks I'm a robot or something.

After that KE works ok, but I prefer MS now and don't use KE that much anymore.

It happens if you hit it with enough stuff in a short time.

Go through a proxy. Search on Google for "anonymous surfing" . You can then quickly use proxy services to hit Google. If the IP is blocked, just move on to another anonymous surfing site in the list.

I've had happen to me a few times even with market samuria.. mainly only when I've been checking large lists of keywords to find particular niche long tail phrases..

bit of a pain when it happens though... and as the others say.. it only last for 1-2 hours usually... go watch some tv for a bit then come back

    Hi...

I do keyword research all day using MS and have not had any problems getting my IP banned (thank God!).

The worst that I get is the Captcha form, but that's about it. No real problems.

Yeah, i got this frustrating message once in a while....

it could be someone on your network are using automated queries.

Shutdown your computer and turn off your modem/network to get a new
ip address.. hopefully that will work..
