SEO question: magazine blog layout...

Hello there, everyone.

I don't like doing this. I prefer to find the answers myself, but this
one is giving me some trouble. I have searched here and on google
but to no avail.

Honestly, I don't know if this is a valid or relevant question to ask.
I'm wondering about the magazine vs. non-magazine layout for blogs
with regard to SEO benefits, or ease of optimization.

Let's assume on-page factors are equal to the extent it's possible with
the magazine layout.

It seems to me the magazine layout would be more difficult to optimize
with any high degree of specificity. I say this simply because of the
large number of various kinds of articles on the same page. It seems the
magazine design layout almost forces that to be so.

I realize one could put articles on one page and have them basically optimized
for one phrase, or maybe two related phrases. I have not seen a great deal
of magazine style blogs. But the ones I have seen don't seem to be highly
organized from the standpoint of kw phrase optimization.

I would appreciate comments from anyone who has good knowledge or
experience with this area. Or any suggestions for optimizing a mag style blog.
