Here's my site: PR1 virtualrealityaffiliates.com
Im trying to rank for the keyword: wealthy affiliate scam
On a subpage of the site: http://virtualrealityaffiliates.com/...ffiliate-scam/

According to MS all on-page factors are fine, so i have started getting high quality backlinks since 28 November 2009. The links are relevant, with the anchor text: wealthy affiliate scam
to the sub page: http://virtualrealityaffiliates.com/...ffiliate-scam/

I have gotten about 7 links with PR1-2. I checked my competitors and i have more backlinks and higher quality backlinks then they have to the keyword. Yet i sit at position 18 on Google.com

Is it now a waiting game to the top? Because I have better backlinks then competitors for the keyword, and maybe google is still in the process of finding them. Or should i add more content to the subpage which im trying to rank?

Give it more time, it can take as few as 4 days for good backlinks to change your SERPs, but I have also seen it take a month for some backlinks to move me up the SERPs with no other SEO going on.

  • Keep adding links. Freshen up your content. Add some comments and internal links to other pages on your site. Make it fresh.

    Nice theme, by the way.

Unfortunately there isn't much else to do other then to keep working at it. There isn't an easy solution these days as SEO gets more and more competitive.

      Hi chini,

Your web page content is fine. You could benefit from better internal link structure on your website. Many of your pages seem to have duplicate page titles and adding a few pages that are relevant to your targeted keyword and linking to the primary landing page couldn't hurt.

You should focus on building a web of relevant pages linking to yours and I predict you will easily overtake your competitors. It does take time though to earn trust, which is an important factor. Look for relevant pages that you can place backlinks on. If you can't find them then build them on your own website and create relevant pages on Web 2.0 properties.

Keep in mind that it takes several months to get the full benefit of your new backlinks. Keep building them until you reach the first page of SERP. then go to work on your next page or website and check back every few weeks to see where you are positioned on the SERP. You may see your page continue to rise without any additional effort. If it stagnates then go back to work on backlinks to push it higher, chances are you may not need it.
