Has anyone seen this?
If I look at the back links of high ranking positions of websites using city names as part of their keywords, links are left every time someone does a search benefiting the site.?

I'm lost there. Can you explain a little more in detail? From what I gathered there you are saying that if a random person does a search for some keyword that includes a city name that they some how get a back link built.

Strange I did it for my company and only noticed one link showing. I have thousands of links but only my main site showed up. I have no clue how that site was able to get so many repeated links. I'll look into it some more.

    Edit:
OK just found out why. They have different phone numbers or addresses to make repeated local listings. Very interesting approach to getting free links. I'm doing it now for my business lol. Thanks for sharing.

    Edit:
Well I've just added 3 more listings for my company and the auto reply said they will add it after review so I'll let you know what happens when I get any confirmation back from Yahoo.

Ya, I'll check out the phone number thing too. It looked to me that they were just showing up for cities they had been listed for.
