How to have Adsense ads and other similar looking ads without getting banned?

So learning from the many discussions on here, clearly Adsense is not the only way to monetize a site.

I know Adsense has the rule where you can have other ad programs running on your site as long as the ads don't look similar to Google ads. eg. Amazon product ads.

However, I wanted to put some affiliate ads for sideshowtoy.com on my site, but their ads are banner styled just like Google ads.

I understand the rule then that I can't have say 1 Google Leaderboard ad and then a sideshowtoy Skyscraper ad on the same page.

But ... can I have 1 page on my site be ALL Google ads, and then another page be ALL SideShowToy ads?

Is that breaking the Google adsense rules?

Thanks so much

Personally I do not see a problem with you having different pages with different ads that are separate from them. Technically you could have one page with adsense and another with yahoo publishers as far as I understand it.

I'd doubt you would be breaking any rules that way. As far as the ads looking similar from the affiliate, I don't know. People use banner exchanges all the time that have leaderboard type banners and don't have any problems.

Part of me says you are over thinking it.. I think they are more worried about you putting something more like yahoo publishers on your site w/ adsense...

maybe someone else can elaborate more!

You're probably right about me overthinking it. I'm still a newbie with all this affiliate stuff so I've worried about losing my account

Though can anyone confirm if you can have a mix of Google ads and other ads that look similar but are affiliate ads, not CPC ads? (did I use the right term there for adsense ads, CPC?)
