Would anyone know on average how much time would one person spend on 1 ecommerce site per week doing normal SEO tasks without outsourcing ?

    Broad question.

    Depends on how much competition is within that niche.
    What your goals are.
    ect.

    The more time you put into your site the better the results. So if you wanted to put in 20 hours a week you will get better results then only doing 5.

      Aaron is right, the more work you put in the better. By optimizing your site and building quality backlinks, your site will benefit greatly but this all takes time and effort. Worth it at the end of the day though.

      It depends on what kind of SEO that you want (goals: traffic/rankings and when you expect those results). As the competition is getting tighter by the day, I would say that you need to be dedicated every day to see some good results as more jump online to grab market share. Also, it depends on many other factors, such as how long you have been online, highly trusted and quality links etc.

    Promoting your business should be your main task and should be done for as much time as you can spare. If you have 1 site, and the admin takes 2 hours, the remaining 6 hours of that day should really be spent on promotion.
