I need to dominate my keyword.

what type of links should I build.

I already built some from ezine articles, squidoo, sribd, wordpress.com, blogger.com, and weebly.com

I submitted all my post, and articles to about 20 social book marks.

I bought 30 links from Angelas backlinks and built those.

After I started building my social bookmarks my site dropped to not even the top 1000.

Before it was number 170 for my keyword.

    Try these backlinks:

    Propeller - PR7
    Netscape.aol.com PR7
    SlashDot.org PR9
    NewsVine.com pr7
    Swik.net PR6
    BlinkList.com PR7
    Fark.com PR5
    Bumpzee.com PR5
    Zimbio.com PR5
    Blurbosphere.com PR3

This list is far from exhaustive but it helps you get indexed in no time.

      Slow down their chief!

Too many backlinks at once is a sure-fire way to make all of your work useless.

Slow and steady(but random), variants of keywords, etc. is what it takes.

You might have to build links to that page for a very long time to get any decent rankings.

Prove it. No offense, but I'm sick of this advice. Unless you're building like tens of thousands of links overnight, there's no such thing as "too many backlinks at once" being bad for your site. And even that many might not hurt you in the least. Look how often a news story goes viral, creating sometimes millions of links to one page in a few hours. I don't recall ever hearing that this caused that page to do anything but rise in the rankings.

Also, I've seen no evidence at all (in 13 years) that shows me that "variants of keywords" matters, other than slowing down how long it takes to rank for each of the variants.

That is a very highly debated question and I agree with you on that point but somebody has been dinged somewhere and its scared off everybody.

I am going to assume you are talking about the site in your signature link:

If you go to: Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer you will see that only 14 of your backlinks are actually indexed. This is not uncommon. Sometimes it can take awhile for the SE to recognize backlinks.

The best backlinks to get would be from sites actually linking to yours since you have quality content. But since your site is basically a made for adsense site with limited content you can pretty much throw that idea out.

I just checked in Google and the Digg came up for your Squidoo lens. You should be ranked pretty high when it is all said and done.

A quick check in Niche Keyword Competition Checker Free SEO Research Tool will determine what you are competing against. Just enter in your keyword.

Also, none of your images are optimized on your blog. Make sure when you upload an image to name the image a keyword and fill in the "alt" text.

One advice would be that you don't need to target just a single keyword or phrase. Try to expand that to 2-3 different keywords. I've not seen much changes with Angela's backlinks method, for a couple experimental sites of mine. So better go for some relevant methods, like do more of the article marketing, through ezine articles and many other article directories.
Other methods should be contextual linking in different blogs to your main website which you are trying to target. Getting links within content matters more than links in a group of links.

You also need to have to good linking structure on your website. There's more to getting ranked high than just having lots of backlinks, but that topic is a whole seo class in itself.

I would try and get a Yahoo directory listing, it costs $300 and there's no guarantee you'll get approved, so make sure you add more content to your site, but if you get it, it will definitely help.

Id like a definitive answer on this subject myself. I have just gone about building backlinks using Angelas packets and my site has dropped off significantly in the SERPS.

Im familiar with how long this process usually takes, but all Ive seen so far since November 15 is a big drop and no sign of recovery.

You should take a look at Terry Kyle's backlinking experiment. You should get some ideas from there. Just search for the thread.

The only BL's that matter are those that come from article directories. They're 100% safe and won't result in your site getting sandboxed.

Try it, write one unique article, and submit it to all the directories, ping them when they go live and then do two or three social bookmark to your site.

That's it, don't over do it.
Which directories are best for submitting to besides ezine?

For me backlinks from good article directories (do follow) are still the best. But I only focused on just two - Ezinearticles and Goarticles. These to me are the very best.

Free articles, related directories, classified ad sites, forum signatures are all among my favorite. and are fairly easy to acquire.
