Registered a domain, was live site 5 years ago, any rankings benefit?

Hey all,

I registered a new domain. Went to archive.org and found out it was a live site from Feb. 04 to Feb. 05. Would I see any rankings boost from this since it was registered before and was live for a year? It was a real site with content, not a parked domain. Or would I not receive any rankings boost since it hasn't been online for almost five years? Thanks...

    I think it will be much easier to rank your site with older domains anyway.

    Was there continuity in registration? I understand the site was active many years ago, but between then and now, was the domain name continuously registered? When you check whois, for the field "record created on" does it show the original registration date five years ago, or the date when you registered the name? Reason I'm asking is because if the registration lapsed and the domain name went back into the public pool, then typically when you register that name, it is treated by the registrar as brand new. The "record created on" is reset, and for all practical purposes, the domain is no longer "old"...

      It shows my registration from a couple months ago for the "record created on" not the registration from five years ago. At archive.org it only shows it from Feb. 04 to Feb. 05. The previous domain owner probably used it for a year, let it expire, then it went back into the public pool. From your post it sounds like there won't be any rankings boost.

    Check backlink of that site, if many backlink...i can say yes, but if only a few of backlink, it's will be difficult even that site old enough.
