x factor sites everywhere!

I have run into x factor sites by chance more times than I can remember. I know part of the reason is that I am researching and looking for these same low competition niches too, but there sure seems to be a lot of those sites out there.

I have to wonder if there being so many might cause some kind of problem down the road. Not sure exactly what though.

One thing I noticed about the sites too is that the writing tends to be very sloppy. Very bad punctuation and often grammar too. I always try to be careful with what I put on a site (not here!), but maybe I am losing by spending more time on each site. I would like to think Google does take that into consideration with search results..

I have come across quite a few in my searches as well. I notice that some actually are very well written, while others are just thrown up with regurgitated information with no proof read afterward.

If anything does happen, I would assume that g00gle will simply filter out the crap over time. As like some people who are doing the adsense thing, I put up a few sites a week as opposed to a few sites a day solely so I can make sure they actually have useful information and are constructed in a somewhat non cookie cutter fashion.
Definitely do not want to add to the cesspool of useless information already existing on the net! (that and I want to avoid having my adsense account suddenly banned due to a massive ring of crappy sites)

But unfortunately, people like us who shoot for quality kind of get left in the dust by the people who auto-fire crap. But oh well, as long as I am seeing a consistent scaling of profits, I will continue to go the route I am.

If the effort hasn't gone into site creation than I doubt there will be much effort in site promotion either. These sites will fade away soon (the crap ones). If they are profitibaly just take their place and knock them down a peg. It should be easy.

I'm not saying they are all badly written either. Just that it is the general trend.

I think perhaps you are right. Need to vary the template and put up quality for the long haul.

Too many people getting into anything always messes it up. This basket is getting too big to put all your eggs in!

The Warrior Forum implemented a search feature just the other day. It's pretty new, but you might try it.

I think you put too much stock into what google is thinking. not that it is recommended, but I often can get an microniche/xfactor type site to the 1st page of google with the original "hello, this is your first wordpress post" still as the only post, as long as the template is SEO'd.

I made some x factor sites. I noticed one of my sites started getting a lot of clicks...like a 200% click through, I was happy until I noticed this dramatic increase coincided with a competitor appearing on page 1 with me.

    Hmmmm.....friend or foe.

I think John's course is brilliant. It's certainly worked for me. So far I have made around $80 this month with my handful of xfactor-type sites.

However, in hindsight, I think the biggest mistake John made was to put up the template website. He should have simply descibed the pattern and not put up an actual template to copy. That way people will have had to make their own templates - all looking different - and we wouldn't have hundreds of duplicate looking xfactors sites.

I'm wondering if John now regrets releasing his actual template?

Not at all - it's just one of hundreds of looks that can work.

In fact, I've been using almost a dozen different layouts over the last few months
to test and they all work just fine.

I guess I've been looking in all the wrong places, I haven't been able to find any. I wanted to find some to see if the sites I put up were on the right track. So far haven't made anything and have 20 hits in 3 weeks. Must be wrong niche or I'm way off base.

That's a good thing. Knowing people like I do, I know that if I see someone using one of the standard thoughts/layouts in his program that:

      1. The niche is extremely easy to penetrate since most people will have done little to anything effective to get in the spot I see them at.

      2. At least one other person thinks the niche is worth a minute of time.

      3. Most importantly, that I can enter this niche easily--getting where they are at or above them with very little effort.

      4. They might have other sites (ideas to find).

I saw one site that had links to several other xfactor sites in the footer. So I clicked on those which led me to other xfactor sites. It didn't appear to me to be a very good thing to do.

They don't. Why? Because many entirely legit sites have the same problem for one reason or another. I can say pretty confidentially based on what I've observed that a site having perfect grammar and spelling are not factors used in Google's ranking formulas.

That said, you should have good, legit, content on Adsense sites though. You don't have to make it Pulitizer prize winning writing that engages and energizes readers though. Just make it as informative (and boring) as your average corporate memo.
