Indexed --> then de-indexed --> then _____?

I'm doing the rent a site model of getting a website ranked on Google and then renting the website to a business that would benefit from it.

All was well, but today all 3 of my recently launched sites got deindexed.

Here's what I've done...I'm hoping you can shed some light on this. Assume my niche is "tax accountant" for the sake of this conversation. If you think you can help out, PM me and I'd be happy to send the site domains to you.

(1) I reg'd domains for NorthridgeTaxAccountant.com, venturataxaccountant.com, etc.
****both of these are not real sites. I'm just using them for this example****

(2) i setup a wordpress site on each of the 3 sites. Each wordpress site has the same template, same plugins, etc. However, the content is different enough on each site so i don't think I'd be running into duplicate content issues. they're all the same niche, but I did make the text / image content of each site different.

The sites were setup on Weds Dec 2nd.

(3) The sites were indexed and placed on page 1 by Saturday the 5th, just a few days later. All of these are very uncompetitive keywords.

(4) Now today, thursday the 17th, all sites appear to have been deindexed, removed from Google page 1, etc.

I'm trying to figure out what's gone wrong with this?!? I have 2 people ready to rent both sites starting tomorrow and I'm freaking out a bit lol.

Please enlighten me on what you think may have gone wrong. Is it common to be indexed, then deindexed, and then re-indexed again in such a short period of time (although I haven't been re-indexed yet).

Looking forward to your response

Just because they aren't on the first page anymore doesn't mean they've been deindexed.

Do a search for your site on Google and see if it comes up.

For example, search for "http://www.sitenamehere.com" without the quotes.

Your site is most likely just doing the salsa with Google. Google is a shocking dancer so it likes to practice with our sites when they first get created. As a result your site will jump up and down the rankings for a while until it will settle into where Google thinks it should be ranked.

This is completely normal and it happens with every site. Just keep doing what you're doing and keep creating links and all will be okay.

Totally normal...sometimes I'll do a little change and the site drops to like page 18 or further and then a few days later is back right where it was.

Also worth noting, there is now web history option that you want to make sure it's not modifying the results based on your own history of repeatedly visiting those sites to work on them.

they were def deindexed during that time, as I checked the URL in Google as you mentioned. All were deindexed.

The weirdest thing though was that they came back to the index about 1.5 hours later...a stressful hour to say the least.

I've never seen this type of thing happen where it jumps in and out of the index, but maybe that's cause I haven't monitored them as closely in the past.

You can also sign up for Google Webmaster tools. it will tell you what your current rankings are, as well as if your site has any problems that would cause it to be deindexed. Usually a new site will go through the Google dance for 2-3 months. Then they start to trust you more and your rankings will stabilize.

    I emailed you,

But my answers were the same as here. This is just the Google Dance and with continuous linkbuilding, it will eventually settle down!

I agree ranking do shifts up and down. Though important, ranking isn't everything. I am sure any established site owner will have a whole spectrum of traffic generation techniques and activities to generate sales, etc. that will compensate for the 'lack of ranking'
