Best SEO startegies for big sites with 1000+ articles?

Hey Warriros,

I'm about to build a website with 1000+ articles on various keywords in single niche!

What could be the best SEO strategy for such a site?
I planned to go with Joomla or Wordpress! Apart from internal Linking Structure and Onsite Optimization, what are the Linking Strategies I need to go with. Here I need to do SEO for each article i.e each article is targeting a Keyword!! Any help, suggestions??

    SEO for Large websites depends on leveraging your website authority and passing it on to each individual page.
    Without going into much detail.. A quick rundown of what you'd need to do:

    1) A very deep Internal linking structure. Every article must link to a few other articles.

    2) Link to random articles from the main page.

    3) Point your high quality backlinks to your main page and silo/category pages.

    So if you have a 100 article website.. have atleast 10 category pages each linking to 10 different articles. By building quality backlinks to these pages you are passing link juice to each individual article.

    It normally takes a few months before this starts taking effect and it makes it easier for newer articles to rank immediately due to the overall authority.

    If you've got time.. analyze internal pages of websites such as Nextag.com and About.com ... there's no better way to learn than to copy an already successful website.
