Sometime ago I read a post in Warrior Forum about the value of making blog comments which indicated that you could get links from every page of the blog even though you commented on only one page. I decided to try this out and spent an evening making blog posts. The URL I left on the comment was linked to my web page dealing with business and setting up LLC's.

Before doing the commenting I was on page 10 ranking about number 50 on Google for my key words. I had optimized my web page and had done some linking with with packages I found on Warrior Forum. After doing the commenting, I saw on Yahoo that I had almost 200 links from different pages of one particular blog. I thought this was great. However, soon after that, my web page dropped out of site and I cannot even find where it is ranking on Google now.

I'm trying to understand what happened and whether the advice was bad or whether I did something wrong with my blog commenting. I'd like to correct this problem in the future.

Any suggestions or comments on this situation would be much appreciated.

Thanks - Bob M

Don't worry about it too much. Give it some time, and I suspect you'll see your site come back, and maybe even ranking higher. So give it time before you be too concerned.

It might be google dance. If you post a lot of comments on spammy blogs it will decrease your ranking.

    Hi Bob,

This sounds like you are getting on every page because your profile or comment is listed in the recent comments box on every page. If that's case your links will soon disappear from all of those pages and any value you were receiving from being listed in recent comments is soon gone. You would need to keep posting comments frequently and continuously to maintain that benefit.

You may also be experiencing the temporary benefit from QDF (Query Deserves Freshness) which goes away after a few days or weeks. Google will temporarily rank some new pages higher to get fresh content to the first page of the SERP.
