Here's what I did...

Signed up for a Yahoo account and posted a question Yahoo Answers with my keyword in the question. Included a description with the same keywords.

I logged in into my another Yahoo Answers account which I had for a long time and answered the same question. By the time I answered, there were two answers already.

I logged into the former Yahoo account and chose my own answer as the best answer. Now my answer with my link is in the top.

I guess I am going to rinse and repeat this for a while

Now some people who have been doing this may get angry that I shared it here... but when the cat is out of the bag.. it is out of the bag. Sorry guys!

Actually, I wanted to try this technique for something in a high converting niche, because even I tend to trust yahoo answers a lot.

But if it becomes too popular here on warrior forum, it'll be saturated (even more), people will trust yahoo answers less and less, and eventually yahoo answers might do something about it.

I hope this doesn't turn out the way I think it might...

Don't even worry about saturation; people have been using YA for years for affiliate marketing. Plus, it's heavily moderated, and you can't post links until the account answering the questions is level 2.

I know people who have successfully marketed on YA for years, and still are today.

Great tip! I'd wondered if Yahoo did any type of IP monitoring. Glad to know that they don't.

note that you dont get a linkback until you get around 250 posts though.

      TRUE !!

Meaning the links are posted as text and there is NO actual link.

There's an interesting interaction between this technique and the common advice to look on YA for questions that people want answered, to base an info product around.

If the questions are posted by marketers in the first place (and you can't tell which are and which aren't), in order to get links to their products, you can't rely on the questions to show you the demand for a new product to answer that issue.

Be careful. I've had two YA accounts banned in the last year trying this strategy. You might bump into a rival IM who might report you and get your account blocked. I'm sure this is what happened to me the first time around. I opened my third YA account a few weeks ago and I'm going to have to build myself up to Level 2 again over the next week or so.

Thanks for the warning. I guess it's better to use throwaway accounts, even though by the time you build them up they aren't exactly throwaway.

It's done on a point system. You need 250 points before you are "level 2". Full details on how to earn points are here: Point System - Yahoo! Answers

GENIUS. Trying it now! I think it's even better than my method...? Well, it's sure as hell faster.

    Thanks for the tip!
