Question about Rankings and Google Analytics

Let's say i own two sites which are "competitive" and they both are supposed to rank for the same keyword.

If i add the new site to Google Analytics, Google will know that the old site is mine (because its on analytics for some time already) - and it will know about the new site.

Will this in any way harm my rankings, eg. would Google prevent my new site to rank higher...or somehow prevent that both sites can achieve top Google position?

By the way i am not planning any B*ckHat or Interlinking the both sites. I just think that the "new" site is better and might rank better, but of course i dont want to lose ranking of the old site.

  • No.

I have a number of sites in the same general niche, all on the same IP Block and they rank fine.

Google isn't out to penalize you because you expand your reach within a niche.

Unless you are using unique hosts and registering your domains in proxy they already know about you.

Google is a software company, it's very uncommon for them to invest real people into evaluating sites.

Hey George... do you have google chrome or google desktop search on your computer? If so, they know a lot more about you than you realize (and maybe more than you want them to).

When it comes to Search, Google cares about content most. As long as you aren't doing anything to manipulate their rankings, their algorithms will work on both sites and you will see which one they judge as better.
