Has Google already slapped me before even indexing my pages??

Hi Warriors,

I know that it can take anywhere from minutes/hours to days/weeks (hopefully not months) to get indexed by Google, but this has been kind of concerning me so I just wanted to get your opinions on it.

I took action on Andi's famous "$6,000 in 40 days" post. I found a niche (non-IM), and wrote about 8000 words of original content on it. I just sat down for a few hours and wrote and wrote and wrote, told myself I wasn't allowed to do anything else except go to the bathroom until I had enough original content written to do a complete link-wheel and website scenario as was talked about in the post I mentioned above.

It is all good quality, completely original content on that particular niche, researched and written by me. I didn't use any spinner software of anything else out there that spits out junk cookie-cutter stuff called "content".

In any case, I registered a domain containing the keyword that I am tragetting, and put a WP blog on it.

Next, I went into my 8000 word 'content document' that I had written and started taking from it to get articles with anywhere from 300-600 words out of it. I had written a very long document just for the sake of getting it all out of my brain. However, the way I had written it, I knew where certain parts would break up to form the next article and so on..

I put up blogs/pages on the highest PR web 2.0 properties (have only done about 7 of them so far, still much more content to go for more). I also did some social bookmarking/pinging etc.

That was all about 10 days ago, however not a single page of my money-site or any of the web 2.0 properties has been indexed yet by Google.

What concerns me is that, some of social bookmarking pages (such as on digg) got indexed into Google within minutes of my posting them, but it seems as if Google is not following the URL's all around and indexing the rest of my pages.

Is that something to be concerned over or should I just wait?

I have not put up the rest of the web 2.0 properties yet because I was waiting for the current ones to be indexed.

Is it possible that Google may have 'detected' a link-wheel pattern or deemed my content 'unworthy' and just decided not to index any of it at all?

Any comments/suggestions/opinions would be much appreciated.

Thanks to all and have a great day/evening/night!

Edit: Only reason I'm concerned is because in the past whenever I have put up websites, they have been indexed very quickly, within a matter of hours or a couple of days, by Google, via social bookmarking etc, so why not this time?

I doubt you've been punished by Google so early. That said, it can take a while for it to get indexed. The bots will eventually find it. Just have patience.

If you think about it, as long as the Web 2.0 sites are indexed and are pointing back to your site, the traffic should follow. Yes, it would be nice to have your money page in the index, but you're practically there already.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry if I wasn't clear: The Web 2.0 sites are not indexed, nor is the money site.

Only site that was indexed was a digg page when I dugg my page but did not go any further than that.

How do you know you are not indexed? I know that sounds rudimentary, but just wondering. Are you doing the siteyour site) thing?

I doubt Google bots visited your site yet. Not sure if Google has taken action on the link wheel yet. I still don't know what that is for sure, but I think I can guess. Do Hobpages and Squidoo have something to do with link wheels?

I know it's not indexed by searching for my URL's in Google.

A link wheel is basically what it says. It's a bunch of web 2.0 properties such as Hubpages, Squidoo, Blogger, Wordpress, Weebly etc, linked together with each other and all pointing to a "money-site" where you promote affiliate products or however you wish to monetize it.

Just do a google search for it and you'll see... there are also many images that make it easier to understand the concept.

I don't know if this will help or not but I have found google is not crawling my stuff as quickly as it used to be- well to be fair it has only been the last three weeks I have noticed the change.

I waited 2 weeks for a new domain to be indexed- I did loads of social bookmarking, article submissions, video submissions and rss submissions- There were a lot of links out there and it has only just been indexed today or yesterday. Normally my sites get indexed within a couple of days due to the promotion i usually do when I set them up.

I have also been waiting for over 10 days for a clients site to be crawled to pick up changes in their title tags. This site has also had loads of promotion over the last 2 weeks and it still hasn't been crawled. It was being crawled quite regularly before that so i am kind of frustrated that it is taking so long.

i have heard a couple of people mentioning stuff along these lines, perhaps they have just slowed down a bit...

    Good luck anyway.

Well it seems to have at least started to get indexed now!

Some of the pages are showing up. My main page is ranking #100 for the main keyword , which is not bad considering the whole site has not even been indexed yet and neither have the other 2.0 properties linking to it. So it should be easy to move up to first page!

Good luck on your client's pages as well.

Glad it's showing up. A mistake I've seen a couple of times is wordpress defaulting to block search engines... usually results in not being indexed :p

Not only is it showing up, it gradually crawled up from #80 on the results to now (for the time being) settled at #11 so far for the main keyword phrase. First on the second page. No visitors from Google so far though. The phrase gets about 5k searches per month. Most probably no one is even looking on the second SERP.

That is not bad. Also, it seems to be ranking strictly based on SEO on page so far, as none of the web 2.0 properties linking to it have even been indexed yet. When and if they do become indexed, I would think it would move to the first page.

Then some more content and few more backlinks should get it in the top 3, hopefully the top top!
