Hey

Yesterday i clicked on an adsense ad on my own niche site (it was at my girlfriends computer, different ip, different physical address, so doubt google can take me for clicking my own ads, if not google got agents spying on me  )

Well on my site a saw an adsense advert, I cliked on it and I was taken to a page containing only adsense advert.

To me it sounds like getting traffic to adsense site via using adwords

anyone tried this? is it good?

That is what they call Adsense Arbitrage (it isn't really) and it will get the advertisers account banned. It use to work a few years ago.

I do not understand why people click there own ads. You cheat the advertiser, you cheat Google and in the end (when you get caught) you cheat your self.

When I see an AdSense link that leads to a link farm or more AdSense links (and that's all), I report it to Google.

It's illegal, and it's annoying. Those sites/accounts are usually removed from AdSense within hours, or that's how it's looked when I've checked them, later.

That said, I'm interested in the kinds of ads that appear on my hobby-related websites. It's very tempting to click on a link on my own site, when I'm checking page layout or proofreading.

Instead, I copy the URL and check it out. If it's a deceptive AdSense ad (or something illegal), I list the URL as one that shouldn't appear on any of my websites' AdSense ads.

I was about to say the same thing. This person actually has the nerve to admit it here as well ... a lack of insight if you ask me.

BTW does your girlfriend know how you are making a living ... 1 click at a time?

If you are clicking on your own ads, you are at the risk of being banned from adsense for life. It is against their TOS

Wow, people are all high and mighty about this guy clicking one of his ads. Yes it's bad, not only because it's cheating everyone involved, but your conversion rate will suffer and you could get smart-priced. If you're the only one clicking your ads without buying anything, this will get noticed and you'll start getting $0.01 per click for every single click you get until your conversion rate goes up.

That said, writing down and checking out a few suspicious ads is smart, and profitable if you can narrow your ads to only quality related ones on your site.

Using Adwords to drive traffic to an Adsense site is no longer allowed and will get you banned. People used to do it with much success, maybe this person never got the memo about not doing it. Or maybe they want to break the rules.

It doesn't matter, the world isn't fair, and yes there are plenty of people out there making a ton of profit breaking the rules while we all follow them, but they are shouldering that responsibility. Let's all focus on ourselves, nobody here is the Google Sheriff. The bad ones will get rooted out eventually.

It's just plain stupid clicking on your own ads and your ass should get banned from Adsense for it. It may not be a problem if your earning $20 a month but there are some that are making a decent living off Adsense and they NEVER click on their ads, why risk losing your account for a lousy click?

Adsense arbitrage is old news and there were many that were banned because of it.
