Any tips on building a web-based SEO tool?

Hello,

As the thread title suggests... Is there any website I can go through or can you WF veterans help me with some ideas/tips on how to go about developing a web-based SEO tool? The idea is to have it for personal use and to let the less-than-75 members of my membership website get access to it. I know that it's possible by using APIs, but I just don't know how to do it and what APIs to choose. I'm learning PHP and JS, by the way. I plan to learn Python next, if it's going to help at all.

I know information about something requiring high expertise in web-programming comes for a price, but there could be some ideas that may be available for free that I might have missed out.

    I have my own seo web app product that I sell. I developed mine in php. If you learn about cURL and regular expressions you can achieve quite a lot. Also, if more than one person is going to be using the app from one location you'd probs need to use proxies as you will probably need to query certain sites numerous times depending on what tasks you are needing the tool to perform.
